A MESSAGE FROM THE CANDIDATE...
I am campaigning for Sheriff in Bamberg County because I believe my experiences can be successfully utilized to forge concrete and supportive relationships with our county officials, as well as with those in other counties. It is my intent to create a comprehensive countywide community-based network that includes the citizenry and law enforcement as a deterrent to criminal behavior.
I am fortunate to have grown up in Bamberg County. I was also educated in Bamberg County public schools. I am a proud alumnus of Voorhees College where I earned two degrees in Criminal Justice. I am also a Denmark-Olar High School graduate. In addition, I am a recent graduate from the Bamberg County Leadership Institute.
I served in the South Carolina Army National Guard of 22 years. Through my military service, I served on several deployment details including Homeland Security. Through my Homeland Security deployment, I used my military and law enforcement skills to help protect our America.
Presently, I am serving on the Bamberg County Planning Commission and the Bamberg City Block Grant Committee. I am also a very active member of other professional, community and church groups.
I believe it is critically important that we have a sheriff that will lead Bamberg County into a new era. I believe it is important that a sheriff is open, candid, and clear on how to move forward to achieve the goals of a county that is safe for all. We must be clear about the fundamental issues that are facing our county.
Understand that your feelings of safety in every county community are paramount to me and will be to my team. We will be open to change and how to implement change in the way law enforcement is served in our county. We will develop opportunities to keep apprised on the latest law enforcement tactics used to address the criminal element via training workshops; we will develop collaborations and partnerships with other law enforcement to demonstrate my philosophy that safety involves everyone.
As sheriff of Bamberg County, I believe I can make a big difference in the safety of the residents in our county. I will be led by principle and the conviction that all of us can work toward the common goal of a safe community. To learn more about me, click here.
